The patterns on these quilted wall hangings were digitally designed and derived from the spectrogram of a 17 year cicada cycle audio recording from my back porch. The fabric in each quilt was mordant-printed and naturally dyed with indigo, buckthorn, foraged black walnut, pomegranate, or madder root.
